Wayne Rooney took just 35 minutes to score on his second Everton debut on Thursday.
The 31-year-old officially completed his return to Goodison Park on Sunday after calling time on his 13-year stint with Manchester United.
And it didn’t take long for the former United captain to make an impact as he opened the scoring with a superb long-range effort in the 35th minute.
Everton are currently in Tanzania for their pre-season preparations and have kicked off their campaign with a game against Kenya’s reigning Premier League champions.
A number of Everton fans were quick to point out that the effort was almost identical to Rooney's first ever senior goal for Everton against Arsenal in 2002.
Kenyan side Gor Mahia earned the right to play Everton after winning the regional SportPesa Super Cup, which pitted teams from Tanzania against those from Kenya.
